My Letter to John Boehner

It's been a while since I posted but current events have prompted me to fire up my computer and send a letter to House Speaker Boehner.  Here is what I wrote:

Dear Mr. Boehner,

Thank you for your spinelessness in the Republican Party.  Because of you I have decided to leave the Republican Party.  I will no longer support the GOP and will do EVERYTHING in my power to help support Tea Party and Libertarian candidates.

Your decision to remove fiscal conservatives from the Financial Services Committee because they are doing the right thing and not towing your party line is the last straw.  You have shown that you and your ilk are no better than any other Progressive, Big Government politician, whether he is a Republican OR a Democrat.  Your policies have ensured the demise of the Republican Party and the GOP.  Welcome to the new Whig Party Mr. Boehner because I am DONE with you.

I will now make it my mission to help support candidates that represent MY values and ones that are more concerned about the preservation of the United States of America and our Constitution than their own political power.  You may choose to believe that I am only one person and you will disregard this message.  Know this however.  This is NOT the response of a single individual.  I speak for a multitude  of hard working Americans that believe in our country and the Constitution and are SICK and TIRED of your ineptness and Progressive, Big Government power grabbing.  The days of the career politician have come and are now GONE.  Now will be the time of responsible candidates who TAKE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America SERIOUSLY

It's time for FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY.  If Congress played by the same rules as the rest of American citizens, then you and the rest of Congress would be locked up for financial FRAUD.  It's simple.  DON'T SPEND MORE THAN YOU TAKE IN!  Instead you spend whatever you like and then increase the debt ceiling, print more money and increase taxes to make up for your fiscal irresponsibility.  It would be like me taking out a credit card, maxing it out, getting a NEW credit card so I could spend more, going over to my copy machine and photo copying trillion dollar bills and then stealing from my neighbor to cover the rest.

But I digress . . . this is about you and the end of the Republican Party and the GOP.  It is time to replace your bloated elephant with an AMERICAN BALD EAGLE.  We are NOT about Republican or Democrat.  We are about COMMON SENSE and RESPONSIBILITY.  From here on out I make it my calling to rally RESPONSIBLE, COMMON SENSE individuals, whether they are on the Right OR the Left to help take back our country from career political HACKS like you.  Consider this your future PINK SLIP and thank you again for showing your TRUE COLORS to the American People.

Sincerely,

Dwight Sanders
Proud Tea Party Member and NEW Conservative Libertarian

What Happened to American Exceptional-ism?

I remember it like it was yesterday.  Being and kid and watching "The Adventures of Superman" after school on TV.  I might not have realized it at the time, but this might have been where I learned about American Exceptional-ism.  Day after day I watched that show and day after day a was reminded that I could be GREAT because I lived in The United States of America.  If you don't remember the intro to the show, watch it here:

So what happened to our country where we aren't allowed to think that we are exceptional any more?  Why is it that even Superman has to turn his back on "The American Way?"

Don't we live in the free-est country on this planet?  Don't "American's" have more opportunity at success than in ANY place in the world?  Isn't that why people from all over the world flock to the U.S. for better opportunity and a better life? (read Mexico, etc.)

I think we all know the answer to that question, well at least everyone who didn't receive a trophy for coming in LAST place when they were growing up.

It's time to turn this ship around folks.  If you are one of those parents who has a child that gets a trophy for everything that he/she does, even when they come in LAST place, you need to get off your collective butts and teach your nanny state kid something useful.  Take all of those trophy's into the backyard and BURN them with your child watching and then have a meaningful conversation explaining that people should only get a trophy for being EXCEPTIONAL.  And if you are NOT exceptional then you have to WORK HARDER to become exceptional and receive that trophy.

People, in general. don't get better by having things handed to them on a silver platter and WINNING all the time.  People learn by FAILING and then working harder for the next time.  Then if they fail again, they keep working harder until they SUCCEED.

It's time time revive American Exceptional-ism in our country, put it has to start with parents teaching their kids that they have to work harder to get better.  If you don't, then don't be surprised when your kids end up at Occupy Wall Street and start demanding that they are ENTITLED to free education, healthcare, jobs, homes, food, etc.

I want MY Superman back!  I want Truth, Justice and THE AMERICAN WAY and NOT "all that other stuff".

Declaration of Rights and Responsibilities

A while back I wrote an article about George Washington's "Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior".  Well today, all American's of moral character have been given a new challenge, a new "declaration" on how we should live our lives and of how we should treat our fellow people.  Where Washington used "110 Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation" to forge his moral character, personality and rules for living, we have received a new charter to help forge our moral character as citizens of these United States of America and as people who respect and revere our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Today there is a new Declaration.  A Declaration of Rights and Responsibilities which was presented today by Glenn Beck in his Restoring Courage event in Israel.  If you have studied our Constitution and our Bill of Rights you will find these 10 Declarations common sense.  Please read these declarations and make them a part of your daily life, your daily routine.

~ excerpt Glenn Beck, Restoring Courage event 8/24/11

Thus, we the people do hereby declare not only our rights, but do now establish this bill of responsibilities.

1. Because I have the right to choose, I recognize that I am accountable to God…and have the responsibility to keep the 10 commandments in my own life.
2. Because I have the right to worship as I choose, I have the responsibility to honor the right of others to worship as they see fit.
3. Because I have freedom of speech, I have the responsibility to defend the speech of others, even if I strongly disagree with what they’re saying.
4. Because I have the right to pursue happiness, I have the responsibility to show humility and express gratitude for all the blessings I enjoy and the rights I’ve been given.
5. Because I have the right to honest and good government…I will seek out honest and just representatives when possible. If I cannot find one then I accept the responsibility to take that place.
6. Because I have the God given right to liberty…I have the personal responsibility to have the courage to defend others to be secure in their persons, lives and property.
7. Because I have the right to equal justice…I will stand for those who are wrongly accused or unjustly blamed.
8. Because I have the right to knowledge…I will be accountable for myself and my children’s education…to live our lives in such a way that insures the continuation of truth.
9. Because I have the right to pursue my dreams and keep the fruits of my labor…I have the responsibility to feed, protect and shelter my family, the less fortunate, the fatherless, the old and infirm.
10. Because I have a right to the truth…I will not bear false witness nor will not stand idly by as others do.
To this "Declaration of Rights and Responsibilities" I pledge.  I will follow this example in my daily life and through this declaration help guide others to follow MY example.  And for every person who follows my example I pledge to help them be an example to others.
To this I pledge.
